Our Doctors

Dr. Brian Gordzelik
Dr. Brian Gordzelik has been practicing veterinary medicine for 25 years. He has owned GCVC for 23 years and is very proud of the new clinic constructed in 2017. He grew up in Pampa, Tx and graduated from Pampa High School. After high school, he attended Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated from in 1994.
While he enjoys seeing patients and clients, his favorite part of his practice is surgery, particularly bone surgery. Dr. G and his wife DeLynn have two children, Sarah and Kyle. He enjoys hunting and fishing and is trying to take up golf. They have two Miniature Schnauzers, an English Setter, and a Brittany Spaniel at home.

Dr. Carrie Jo Koonce
Dr. Koonce graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She practiced for four years at a rural mixed animal practice in Oklahoma before moving to Pampa and working for the Texas Animal Health Commission for three years. Deciding that regulatory medicine was not her dream, she joined GCVC where she could once again pursue her passion of caring for all species of animals, both large and small. Carrie Jo’s favorite part of practice is delivering calves.
She brings new abilities to GCVC with her recent certification with the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. She has already started adjusting patients and the feedback is incredibly positive!
Dr. Koonce lives in Pampa with her husband Ty, the “world’s best” Great Dane Cutler and her Texas Lacy, Pre. She and her husband have four horses (Cat Daddy pictured). An interesting fact is that she and her husband play polo and she is currently trying to learn to rope.
Our Techs

April Amador
A proud Pampa native, April graduated from Pampa High School in 2003 and has been an essential part of the GCVC team since 2014. She earned top honors in technician school in Lubbock in 2013 and began her career at Above and Beyond Pet Care Hospital, where she also completed her externship. After returning home to Pampa, she joined GCVC and she hasn’t slowed down since. Aprils home is full of love and rescue pets, including her four dogs: Sterling the Pitbull, Piper the French Mastiff mix, Titus Clyde the three legged Staffordshire Terrier, and Finn the three legged Boxer mix. She also has Luna the black cat, Pig Cat the Munchkin, a bearded dragon named Captain Crunch, a ball python named Hissy Elliot, and four chickens, all rescues. Whether she is assisting in surgery or working cattle, April is completely in her element. Outside of work, she loves road trips, camping, concerts, cooking, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. We are grateful to have her dedication, skill, and heart on our team!

Rita Barker – Veterinary Assistant
Rita is a dedicated veterinary assistant with an impressive 17 years of service at Gray County Veterinary Clinic. A devoted animal lover, she shares her home with four furry companions: the spirited Pepper, the elegant Prissy, the playful Mims, and the loyal Jack. As a proud Marine MoM and grandmother, Rita finds immense joy in her family and her rewarding career. What lights her up most at the clinic? The sparkling new location, cutting-edge technology, and top-notch equipment that make every day a chance to provide exceptional care for pets and their people.

Carolyn – Veterinary Assistant
Carolyn was born and raised right here in Pampa and graduated from Pampa High School in 2019. She started her veterinary journey as a kennel tech at Gray County Veterinary Clinic during high school, stepped away for a bit to work at a clinic in Amarillo, and happily made her way back home to GCVC about a year ago – we couldn’t be happier to have her!
In December 2023, Carolyn earned her Associate’s degree in Education from Amarillo College, but her true passion has always been animals. She lights up when she’s assisting the doctors, piecing together puzzles to figure out what’s bothering a pet, and finding the solution that sends them home wagging and purring again.
When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find Carolyn thrifting for treasures, spending time with family and friends, or at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (she recently converted and loves her faith community). Her constant companion is Watson, her 10-year-old smooth fox terrier and former show dog. He rules the house like the champion he is.

Ashlyn – Veterinary Assistant
Ashlyn is a true Panhandle girl with a heart full of wanderlust and puppy kisses. Born in Missouri but raised in Pampa, she’s been part of the Gray County Veterinary Clinic family since May of 2024 and says walking through our doors every day still feels like coming home.
Ashlyn lights up the clinic with her quick laugh and nothing makes her happier than snuggling brand-new puppies during their first visits, chatting with regular clients who’ve become friends. When she’s not at work, you can find Ashlyn curled up with a good book, taking Jude – her wildly clever Australian Shepherd/Corgi mix on adventures, planning the next road trip, or screaming her lungs out at a concert with friends. Jude, of course, thinks he’s the real star of the show and has the whole clinic wrapped around his paw.
Ashlyn’s warmth, work ethic, and genuine love for every patient make her an absolute favorite with pets and people alike. We’re so lucky she’s on our team!

Laurel – Veterinary Assistant
Laurel grew up under the wide Texas skies of Groom, Texas, and graduated from Groom High School in 2020. She headed to West Texas A&M University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2024. Raised on a farm and ranch, Laurel has been around cattle, horses, and hard work her whole life.
She joined the Gray County Veterinary Clinic team in June 2024, and it didn’t take long for everyone to see why she’s such a perfect fit. Laurel’s favorite days are the ones spent in surgery, out on cattle calls, or building real connections with clients and the amazing people she works alongside.
Outside the clinic, you’ll find her outdoors as much as possible – hunting, fishing, taking trips, or just soaking up time with family and friends. At home, she’s mom to Willow, a bouncy one-year-old golden retriever who thinks she’s a lap dog, and Old Man, a wise 15-year-old quarter horse who’s been stealing hearts (and treats) for years.

Elizabeth – Veterinary Assistant
Elizabeth has been a valued member of the Gray County Vet Clinic team for the past 6 months, bringing with her 5 years of experience in veterinary medicine. After spending time away, she recently returned to her hometown and is thrilled to be serving the community she loves.
At home, Elizabeth shares her life with three wonderful hound dogs: her bloodhound Missy and mixed-breed duo Belle and Abner. She has a special passion for canine dental procedures and loves helping pets achieve healthy, happy smiles.
Outside of the clinic, Elizabeth enjoys attending concerts, trying new recipes in the kitchen, tending her garden, fishing, traveling, and relaxing with history and animal documentaries.
What she cherishes most about working at Gray County Vet Clinic is the blessing of being able to help local families care for their beloved pets and livestock every day.
Riley – Kennel Technician
Riley joined the Gray County Veterinary Clinic crew in May 2025 as our kennel technician, and it took about five minutes for everyone (dogs and humans alike) to decide he belongs here for good. Raised in the Panhandle, Riley has always been the guy who notices every dog’s personality the second they walk in the door. He’ll tell you his favorite part of the job is getting to know the boarders – figuring out who wants to play chase, who prefers a quiet belly rub, and who just needs a little extra reassurance that everything’s okay. He remembers their quirks, their favorite toys, and exactly how each tail wags when their people come back.
At home, Riley is dad to two very different characters: Milo, the bouncy labradoodle who thinks every day is the best day ever, and Scotch, the dignified Skye Terrier who acts like he’s been running the household since the day he was born. Riley has quickly become the one our boarding dogs watch for at the kennel gate. We’re pretty sure they love him almost as much as we do.
Customer Service Representatives

Oyuky Salazar
Oyuky is a dedicated member of the Gray County Vet Clinic team, where she first started in 2020. After working with us for about three years, she took a short six-month break and has been happily back ever since, bringing her passion and experience to every shift. Raised in Wellington, Texas, Oyuky has called Pampa home for the past 17 years. She is married to Josh, and together they share a lively blended family with six wonderful kids. At home, she’s kept busy (and loved) by her two spunky Chihuahuas, Kujo and KJ, and her sweet pocket bully, Bosa.
Oyuky has worked in all areas of the clinic but especially loves surgery and drawing blood for lab work—tasks she performs with skill and genuine care. Outside of work, she enjoys decorating her home and cheering on her kids at their many sporting events. Oyuky is proud to help the families and animals of Gray County every day and looks forward to continuing to serve our community.

Brittany Walters – Customer Service Representative
Brittany has been the friendly voice behind our front desk since 2023, and somehow she makes even the craziest days feel calmer the moment you walk in.
With 2½ years in veterinary medicine and a decade running a corporate cell phone store under her belt, Brittany knows exactly how to listen, solve problems, and keep everyone smiling – whether it’s a worried pet parent or a wiggly pup trying to “help” at check-in. Her favorite thing about Gray County Veterinary Clinic? The deep compassion our doctors and team pour into every patient and client, it’s the kind of place that feels like family the second you’re here.
When she’s not at the clinic, Brittany is usually covered in yarn (she’s an avid crocheter and knitter), dreaming up quirky jewelry and stickers for her artsy side hustle or spoiling her crew at home: two dogs, two cats, and one very patient fiancé who’s learned to live with fur on everything. She’s also the coolest aunt ever to her niece and nephew.
Stop by the desk and say hi; Brittany will probably already know your pet’s name (and have a treat ready). We’re beyond lucky to have her heart and hustle on our team!
